Climbed that many years ago so "thanks for the memories" :) I like your atmospheric sky.

Thanks Val much appreciated.

Like Northern Lights Malcolm, shows up your mountain very well. No I haven't climbed it;)

Thank you Carole, I have seen some beautiful sky's up there over the years, not one as good as that, but in summer on a good sunset Scafell Crag turns pink and if you are up there it is lovely to see. Bivvied up there one summer and the night was so clear did a night walk just by moonlight magical.

Thanks very much for that Dennis

Fabulous painting malcolm, love the sky. great walk too.

Thanks Helen much appreciated and yes a great walk from a number of directions.

Isn't nature fabulous......and so is that sky Malcolm! It's the perfect backdrop for the mountain.

Thanks for that Fiona your comments always appreciated and yes nature is fabulous and often used, abused and undervalued by the modern world sadly.

Some of my comments aren't appearing, I did have poor internet connection yesterday. Anyway, a very strong image Malcolm, and I did say it would make a very good abstract! (Print, cut, stick, paint)

Thanks for that Marjorie, print, cut, stick and paint ! Hmmmm bit like climbing ice without crampons for me I think 🤔

I climbed that too. Mist all the way up and no view from top. Strange rock formations. Eerie. Once we had come down, the sun cleared away the mist!! The valley, can't remember which, looked amazing with gorse and heather with blue sky sharpening the peaks! Best walking holiday.

Yes it's an amazing part of the country to go hill walking or climbing in Gudrun, glad you like the area.

The highest mountain in England Scafell Pike connected to Scafell by the Ridge called Mickledore, the name Mickledore means 'Great door or pass'. I have been on this hill so many time both on my own and leading groups, but also climbing there are some nice routes around its flanks and a good bivviy spot at Hollow stones below Mickledore. Unfortunatley as the years went by you would be very lucky to get any kind of peace and quiet on the summit it is so popular now, but it is open to all. I was once luckey enough to see a Broken Specter here the only one I have seen in England.

I have always loved the outdoors and have climbed and walked in various places in the world, after giving numerous slide shows and talks about my trips to raise money for charity, i realised the slides and photos did not do what i saw justice, so I decided to start trying to paint.
