Thank you for that Fiona, I do like to put some birds in my landscapes no matter how small they may be, but on that day there were plenty or gulls around.

Again thanks a lot Derek, I must admit, because of my kind of what you could call obsession with the mountains and outdoors, I have spent to much time getting frozen fingers sketching and painting, but always worth it just to be out there.

This quick pencil sketch was done with a 2B pencil on Boxing day near the village of Newton Hill in Kincardinshire. It was bitterley cold with the wind coming off the sea the fields were near the cliff tops with very little protection, but one of those great clear winter days.
