That’s a great expression you’ve captured Malcolm, alert and curious. The surroundings suit the subject very well. Last time I saw a stoat in ermine he was having a look in my chicken hut! It was empty at the time, the girls were in the field.

I know what you mean about having to feel the landscape to be able to paint it how you want. Several friends have asked to paint something from a photo and I have to decline for the same reason . I have to feel it but can’t paint outdoors I’m afraid🙆‍♀️
