Very nice painting Malcolm

Smashing drawing and colour work Malcolm

You've got me hooked now Malcolm, straight away I'm looking for your signature amongst the pen work!lol You do contours so well, describing the shapes and fall of the ground with your brush strokes and pen work. May I make a suggestion....if you strengthened your immediate foreground tones and the two trees on the left, it would give even more impact to your tunnel composition. Hope you don't mind Malcolm.

Thank you Dennis, Derek and Fiona, Fiona you are quite right about the strength of tone, I do at times not concentrate enough when sketching and this is the result, thank you for pointing it out, I did deliberately understate the trees on the right as I wanted them further in than those on the left but as you have pointed out more tone on the left and foreground would have given greater depth. But thanks to all 3 of you for your comments much appreciated.

This sketch is drawn from a number of memories of walks over the years that I am sure most people have seen, where you get those great avenues on tracks of the trees bending over creating that lovely green tunnel to walk through.
