Hi Malcolm... your striking picture caugh my eye. At first I thought I recognised the scene from Brimhan Rocks in Nidderdale, but on closer inspection I think it is actually near Mount Teide on Tenerife. Great watercolour sketch.

Hi Mark, thank you for your comments, you are correct it is from the area near Mount Teide and I can understand your comment about Brimham Rocks, I use to climb there a lot and there is a feature called The Dancing Bear that resembles this particular formation.

A very dramatic landscape Malcolm, the ink work adds that little bit extra drama. You’ve been climbing in some great locations!

I have taken the original watercolor and added pen and ink and Luminance 6901 color pencil work to it to hopefully give more definition and enhance the colors there are to be seen in the area. I was pleased with the original exercise as it is a very long time since I did watercolor and it was nice to get back.
