This work was a pastel painting of Kelso Dunes in the Arizona Desert, the surface i did it on is the bark from the 'paper tree' as they called it, it just peels away from the tree in sheets. The Kelso Dunes are amazing they cover a huge area in the desert and rise up from the desert floor to a hight of 600ft in places, it was a hot dusty slog to see these but the area is amazing.
