Daily sketching/painting January - anybody want to join in?

Yes please Margaret! I thought I’d give it a go. I’ve done one for today. This looks a lot more healthy than mine!

That's great, Tess! I think I might have given up last year if it was just me. Last year Annick Whitcombe, who also took part, and myself posted daily on the gallery but I thought this year I've started a thread in the Forum (under General Art Discussion) so as not to hog the Gallery too much - putting the occasional one on the Gallery but not many. This is a quick fountain pen still life of some of my stuff in the kitchen.

This is a good goal, it might just get me back into the swing - I'll try!

A sketch a day is a great idea. I might give it a go, although most sketches in these projects seem to be of 'things'...like your veggies. Not really my thing.

That would be great Marjorie :)

It would be great if you joined in Lewis :) I really like your cartoons - I don't do cartoons only because I don't have the ability. This is totally unofficial and I'm not setting out any rules! The only reason I did vegetables as the pigeons I tried to draw kept flying away and I was running out of time!

A great idea Margaret. I have just commented on Marjorie’s, which when I logged on was at the top of the page, didn’t see this. I would love to join in but I know I would fail.....lol. This is an excellent start to your challenge.

Looks good and like the idea of one a day, must be good for your health as well?.

Thank you Fiona - you don't need to do daily drawings - you could join in for a few days if you want. I like to do it every day in January as it kick starts me for the year - I cheat a bit though and include the work I do in art classes usually rather than doing an additional sketch that day.

Thanks Paul - I find that having other folk doing this too is beneficial (I have also done challenges on Twitter and Facebook) as I find it so easy to not get round to drawing and this kind of challenge gives me something to aim at.

I might give it a go Margaret, I had better get cracking if I want to get the first one done! Thanks for the push.

I like the movement in this, mine was "static". Will try tomorrow to be more spontaneous.

Great pen drawing Margaret.

Thank you Fiona and Marjorie - great that you have joined in :) Thank you Carole :)

Very good Margaret and "crisp" - is that the word. As I said on Ian's posting I will give it a go in January once I have found out how to Post on the Forum !

I absolutely love this sketch.

I sketched or painted every day in January in 2019 and was joined here on PoL by Annick Whitcombe - that was great, easier to keep going when somebody else is doing it too! It would be great if one or more people fancied joining in - doesn't have to be something that took hours, can just be a quick sketch.
