Had no idea that Toi Toi is also a plant. Anyway, a lovely painting and super colour palette

Lovely painting

Distinctively yours. The sky is brilliant, wonderful colour.

Terrific sky that sets the tone for the whole of this composition.

My thanks for the encouragement - as always - appreciated. Toi Toi is a native grass with the raised pale coloured seed head -is quite striking in bulk growth. Sky achieved with 2 layer application 1. gradated layer of Aureolin strong - weak, R to L. well dried and then 2 ,overpainted with even coat of Winsor blue -green. These 2 coats carried over all the paper surface.. White flowers "protected" with latex , removed as final operation.

that time of year when the Toi Toi starts to look a bit tattered and passed its use by date - still plenty looking OK though. Anyway , this caught my eye in passing. Started with ink at different dilutions and completed with water colour - and eraser for the flowers !!
