This is the base ink stage for a subsequent painting but have decided to leave as is. The majority of west coast beaches on both the North and South Islands of NZ are iron sand . We found them a bit off putting when we first experienced them - they looked "dirty" In fact they aren't that different except they can get exceedingly hot to bare feet. Felt this one can stand on its own merits - without gilding the lily and it is a good excuse for having another go at this subject -an hours drive away
