p.s. I've been wondering how you were faring in the dreadful weather we're having at present. Are you OK? ChCh missed the worst of the last storm, thank goodness, but we're apparently due two months rain today!

Thanks Skylar and Sandra. just heard on the radio that Timaru has had a deluge and the rivers are rising. Wanganui didn't fare too badly at the last storm to come through and today has been a cracker - windy to dry the washing and sunshine as well. Wouldn't know it is winter !! Trust you will avoid the worst of it.

Wow this has so much in it. Definitely worth the wait for the right tide.

thanks , Gudrun , it is a black iron sand beach , rugged , sculptured by wave action of the Tasman sea , backdrop of Mount Taranaki (dormant volcano - 1863 last eruption I believe) and has everything necessary to get me itching to paint.

an area full of painting potential - you can only access the site on a receding tide but it is well worth while getting there at the right time.
