Worth staying up for - another good painting Mike

I can spot your work instantly, love the style.

my thanks for the encouragement - it's needed. I came to watercolour , from oils, because of expediency - and I have a tendency to work with strong colour from a limited palette. Colour matching has been part of my working life and I have to fight hard to loosen up. But it is a great hobby for losing the worries of the world - even more so now !!. Stay safe.

Love especially how you’ve done the tree.....wish I could do that....

thanks for your comments Maryann. I did draw this "picture" prior to painting - which included the tree. I also used masking fluid ( not a common practice for me) to blank out the branches / twigs on the tree that I wanted "white " The remainder of the branches and trunk were then painted brown. When completely dry , the masking fluid was rubbed off , areas of white branch was then given a light colour as seen with extremities left white. The foliage colour was then lightly "dragged" on. The background portion upto the base of the tree was completed prior to tackling the tree - in effect , one paints the tree on top of that back ground. Hope this is of some help to you. Mike C.

This is a watercolour and it is 03.50 hrs - should have been abed a few hours ago.!!
