Love the light reflecting on the sea and the cliff.

Super scene well captured.

Beautiful light Mike, looks like a painters heaven.

This is super Mike, love the strong tonal contrasts and the colours used.

Gorgeous yellowy light in this, Mike. as Barry says looks like a painters' heaven! Love it!

thank you all. NZ is a painter's paradise and especially the South Island. I reckon that in the South Island you don't have to go looking - subject matter is all around. The North Island is a bit harder - too green in the main but still with some areas to drool over. We are still below 5 million people although I have to say the place does seem lousy with tourists these days. I under painted with Raw Sienna and Aureolin before commencing to paint in earnest - did similar with the scout boat shed except there I restricted the raw sienna to the top third and aureolin to the bottom 2/3rds - warm sky , cool water in shadow. Took 2900 photos on this South Island trip - so be warned.
