All three are appealing in their own way Mike. Nice work.

Really like this. Mike

Lovely light on the field, great contrast with the dark greens.

Nice to see the finished piece. Great counter change in the back ground trees, and that lovely dark fore ground gives a good lift to the representation of sunshine across the field. Nice piece of work.

Three interesting stages, a brilliant result.

Great result, Mike, with super contrasting light and dark bringing the conditions to the fore. Brian

I've liked all three pictures Mike, a very interesting exercise. Lovely work!

Nice work Mike the foreground darks give a lovely sunny feel to the field and love the well placed patch of sky appearing through the trees.

thank you to all of you for the kind comments. I enjoy this technique - it allows detail in the initial preparation but then one waits to see what lies under the ink and after washing off - sometimes a lot different to what was being expected.

I was really interested in your recent article about your ink resist technique. I too have used a similar method, particularly when depicting old buildings. I use the gouache resist method, but had not thought of using different dilutions of the Indian ink for different areas of the painting. I will also have to try the gum arabic resist you suggest. Some really lovely work.
