Love those little houses.... lots of movement and life in this painting, lovely.

Beautiful painting Louise, lovely trees and houses. Great colours

I can't wait until you get yourself set up with 'Brusho' inks Louise....the colours in this are fabulous. Love the design and tones.

Can I suggest 'Waterfall' as a name - it has the look of water sweeping down the painting in the purple section in the foreground. I really like the ghostly white of the little houses and trees against the super blues, purples and pinks. The misty moon sets the whole scene off beautifully.

Super composition Louise - a real gem

Thank you all , "Waterfall" is good, thanks Thea. I'm really bad at names, my family fall about laughing at some of my ideas.

Just a thought re a name for your painting. How about using Ellen 1. Ellen, or Helen and other variations, is a female name that can be traced back to ancient Greece. It means shining ray, lightness, shining light, etc. I suggest this, not only to reflect the effects within a picture but also as a play on your initials. The figure 1 is there because there may be others. Perhaps this is another "fall about laughing idea". Oh, by the way, I love your paintings!

Ahh, thanks Lionel. You've given this some thought (more than me!) and come up with a clever idea. That's interesting about the name Ellen, another thing that I didn't know and learned here! I like "shining light" and "lightness" which I can use., so thanks again.

It's another lovely piece, Louise. I'm not sure I could choose between this and your subsequent work. This has its own charm. I love the top half - the little houses perched strategically and the ubiquitous moon. It's such a great composition!

Thanks Seok. The annoying thing is that I spent some time painting this one and the other one, which I prefer, literaly took about 15 minutes. I agree with you about the top half of this painting and a appreciate the fact that indirectly you've confirmed what I suspected. I'm not too sure that the bottom half works. I'm leaving it for a few days and then I have a feeling that I'm going to darken it. Once that niggling feeling is in my brain, I just know that I'll eventually re-work this one :)

I think it works very well and I like the bottom part. You could perhaps add a tiny bit of dark colour on the right hand side but even as it is I like a lot.

Thanks Satu, too late, I haven't just added a tiny bit of colour, I've already altered it drastically as I wasn't really happy with it. It all looked a little disjointed to me. I'll put it to one side now for a few days and look at it again with fresh eyes! I think that I'll be happier with the reworked version but there's no going back now :)
