I notice that the building on the right seems to be leaning. This is the photo, not subsidence :) ! Wish I knew why this sometimes happens !

Gosh you are very prolific and all to such a high standard as well. Super design work and palette. Do you exhibit these anywhere? Thank you for your comments on my Torridon posting, twice even.LOL

Thanks Val, I'm not actually churning these out, I did this about two years ago but I like this site as others opinions matter to me. I'll brag a bit and tell you that I sold this one! Such a thrill that was! Not many galleries in Manchester now but my cupboards are quite full. I'm putting some in a gallery next week. Re my double posting, when that happens to others I think how could they do that (but not so politely put!) Then I went and did it myself and stupidly I dont know how it happened!

You are on a roll... so prolific. I think your paintings should be popular for both office buildings and residences. Do you consider to make some prints???

Very kind of you Ping. I'm not really keen on prints. I have difficulty showing my work as it is ! Don't think there would be much demand ! :) Painting is more of a hobby for me and if I sell a few originals then I'm delighted. My house is looking a bit like a gallery at the moment!

Some of your work would actually work well as prints - by which I mean this sort of bold, experimental painting; you may well not want to go down the IKEA route! But on the other hand ... why not? This, for example, would look particularly impressive in a large, modern living room.

Oooh - I like those strong verticals - very powerful. What is also interesting is that you have used the peachy pastel shades to great effect and there is a contrast between the softness of the palette and the strength of the lines - (am I waxing too lyrical - heck, I know what I mean!). Another iconic painting.

Crikey, no one has ever used the work "iconic" before about my painting. Thea, I love you :) and thank you for looking so closely at this one. Robert, IKEA?, I wish!, I love you as well ! and on top of all this praise, the sun's come out!

You have a good eye for colours Louise, I love all your colour combinations. I really like this impression of Manchester locks.

I agree with everyone, you have a distinctive style, I love the long endless lines of the bridge and the contrast of your colours. The dark sky works really well.

I love your colors Louise, and envy your very active creative streak. It's a lovely piece. I've had some incidents where the lines in my painting appear curved on the photo, and it's usually because the paper is not completely flat when photographed or the camera is not flush against the painting. Hope it helps.

Oh! dear Louise the rain has started : ) No ! don't worry I woudn't rain on your parade anyway there is nothing negative to say, Well Lovely is as negative as I can get : )

Thanks Carole and Petra. Petra, I often darken my skies, they never start out as this colour!

Seok, it's probably the camera not flush against the painting as my paper is always completely flat taped to the board. It's quite annoying and happens alot even though I try to get it at the right angle. Thanks anyway. Also, thank you William, I think! :) "Lovely " is a good word, I like it !

love your work and your use of colour - you've got a real style!

I've just looked back for your most recent posting to reply to your 'hake' suggestion. I missed this one.....I wouldn't know where to start to end up with a picture like this. I really admire your inventiveness! Re; 'hake', I've got one, had it a few years....toooooooo scared to use it!!!!!lol

Having navigated the Rochdale 9 last summer on a narrow boat, your painting brings back some good memories. I love the man made waterway and townscape together, and your treatment of it works so well.

They are getting better every day Louise! This one is an absolute winner, I love it!!!

Thanks Lesley and Satu. Lesley, as you've travelled the Rochdale canal you'll appreciate that I've exaggerated the colours !:) I was born here in Manchester and I love the place. It doesn't much like my painting though, Manchester is greener and more sunny than this !:)

It's refracted light from the camera lens that makes the pictures look skew whiff sometimes Louise. Sometimes you can see it on these 'do up houses and sell them on ' programmes where the walls of the room seem to curve on the telly! Anyway that aside. Another lovely painting. You have a unique and commercial way of painting Louise. I wish I could hit on a unique idea. I'm so boring I'm afraid. keep posting! Jx

Thanks for that Jean I always get my daughter to take my photos as her camera is better than mine. I'll tell her what you've said. Thanks again.
