This is gorgeous, Louise...... Vivid, eye catching! Might I suggest (very humbly.....) that you crop it so that it goes off the boundaries of the page, and fills the space.....just as an experiment?

Think you could be right Ruth. Unfortunately my daughter who's the expert cropper is away this week! I can't do it ! To be honest I'm rather pleased that I'm managing to post these without her help! That's why I've posted a few recently. I'll try it in a few weeks when my "cropper" is back from her travels!

Beautiful vibrant colours, very nice...

Wow, Louise. I love the strong, lively colours. Well done!

Jumps off the page at you! Fantastic colours - particularly like the foliage colours and the blues of the background. Ruth has a good point about cropping. I rather like it when flowers go off the edge of the paper and this might work with this one too. However, it is it is a beautiful painting as it is.

Powerful colour, but delicate painting. Must have been a great relief to return to some of your favourite subjects (not that your range is in any way limited, far from it indeed) after the endless struggles with Fiona and Terry (or Terry and June, as I'm beginning to think of them). I agree with Ruth about the cropping - I don't find it easy, either; so if your daughter would also like to have a go at mine....

I like it , but after cropping it with two L shaped pieces of card on my laptop I'm inclined to agree with the 'croppers' , its still a lovely colourfull painting.

Lovely one, Louise. The colors are beautiful, and I'm inclined to agree with the others about the cropping, but could also see it working just as well if you add a few looser flowers and leaves at the edges (so speaks the queen of tight paintings with no idea how to do it!).

William, that's what I did!!

Lovely vibrant colour Louise, I like the poppies all facing different ways, makes it all the more interesting.
