I like your bold approach and strong colours, Louise. A bit different from the usual watercolourist.

Strong bold and positive - great palette - you make it appear so simple - really like this.

Super strong image with positive lines and shapes. You are always so brave with your paintings - I wish I could be as brave as you! As always, your colour choices are spot on and I like this new approach to your subject.

Lively and vibrant, Louise, A sense of place...? Yes.

A slightly different palette this time I think Louise and not quite as abstract but a very strong and striking painting none the less. A great addition to your gallery.

I agree with everyone, beautiful watercolour Louise, great colours

Wouldn't have mattered if you painted it on the moon, Louise, it's a superb piece! It contains all the hallmarks of spontaneity, with your usual good composition and great eye for color. Works beautifully!

Many thanks all! Michael, I find with watercolour that if I resist the urge to fiddle with the paint and not move it round while it's drying, they usually, though not always dry ok. I try not to mess too much with the painting, not worry about the finished result and a glass of sherry sometimes helps :) These are my painting tips!

A different style but still attractive. Great colours and a lovely loose painting Louise.

Another nice painting Louise, tho I prefer your more abstract ones. Like the bold block of dark on the left. Noticed your portfolio says august not september

I don't think there's anything that hasn't already been said about this, Louise, except that it's a very successful product on your move away from the more abstract paintings you've been doing, Your advice about not fiddling with the paint once it's down is so good but not so easy to do in practice. But will hold your words in my head next time I'm watercolouring, and the glass of sherry (or wine maybe) afterwards might work for me too...

Thanks Carole, Kevin and Jane. Kevin, you're very observant, I'd hoped that no one would notice! .. It was a mistake, I'll have to open another for September :)

Sorry Louise! Its easy to edit the name of your portfolio without having to open another,

You can change the name of your portfolio at any time( I did it to both of mine a few days ago) before you add a picture, edit the title and click next. It doesn't delete anything. You can't delete a portfolio by "accident" because it always asks you first if you want to delete.

watercolour 23 cm x 32 cm. I'd like to say that I sat outside and painted this but I'd be lying! It was painted from a photo which wasn't mine either but I had permission to use it !
