I do too Louise this is pure Brilliance

I need a 'quick sketch' box to tick Dennis as mine usually are! There are so many boxes to choose from aren't there.. Mind you, I can't be doing with all these arty type terms. The words 'en plein air' irritate me slightly as well. What's wrong with saying 'painted out doors' :)

Louise your work gets better and better! This is so exciting; pen marks, colours and lighting....fabulous!

So positive and instantaneous - lovely piece Louise

Thank you Fiona and Michael.

Big and bold Louise!! the box that always gets me is 'fat over lean' sounds like something from Masterchef !!!

Thank you Helen and we're rather spoiled for choice with all those boxes aren't we Debs!

Yes you're right Louise, way too many boxes to dither over !! lol

Oh - I never bother to tick any boxes - are we supposed to? The strength of this painting is quite awesome, especially as it has been done in a very loose style. The sky is magnificent and the paler tower against it makes a superb statement. I think you can tell I really like this one!

I always tick the same ones though don't really see why. All I need to know is the medium used, not whether it's a 'fat over lean'. What on earth is that, a term for a life drawing?? I have noticed though that we can't delete comments nowadays. Not that I was in the habit of deleting others but just my own on my own work. For example if I make spelling mistakes or say something I might wish I hadn't. The option isn't there to alter our own comments on our own work.

Very dramatic and brooding feel to this one Louise, not sure I'd like to be on the top floor of the tower! I like the lively pen work on the tower too. I also miss the delete box, with my spelling it was very useful! Isn't fat over lean to do with the order oil painters put strong or weak layers of paint on? Never could cope with oils! I agree with you on the use of French phrases in ort, although they do sound a bit more romantic than 'outside' and 'looking into the light' etc. don't they?

This has to be my favorite among your recent works, Louise! Superb loose lines, great interaction of warm and cool hues and lovely contrast of hard and soft ages.

Quick sketch, mostly inks. Whenever I have to tick the boxes when posting and I come to 'painting style', I usually tick 'loose'..to be honest, I'm not exactly sure what some of the other painting styles are.!
