I can well believe that, given the complexity of the dog's hair and build, but actually you wouldn't know it just by looking at the painting, which is fabulous. These are particularly wonderful dogs, and this one has great character. The set of the eyes is difficult with these: they don't seem to lie quite as you'd expect them to (you see, I've tried to paint one myself..and, on the whole, sooner you than me...).

Really like his intelligent expression. You've really captured his personality.
