Lovely sky, good colours and I love the sea.

I know what you mean...I like the mood you have captured...Art is for pleasure not enduring the elements...well done.

A lovely watercolour, the sky and sea are excellent, well done.

A popular subject Banburgh Castle. Lovely sky and sea. Very well done.

Very very good sea. I just love Bamburgh; the most atmospheric place I have ever visited. How do you get all those ripples and foam in a watercolour? Do you use masking fluid? I've just done my first ever seascape in acrylics but am afraid to try rollers like these.

Thanks to everyone for the comments, much appreciated. No DIANA I don't use masking fluid or any other preparation for my paintings. Occasionally use it in preparing demo's for speed. The white is white paper and the effect is achieved by the dry brush method. The brush is held on it's side and scrubbed gently in the direction of the desired effect. The paper is my favourite, Bockingford. I used 200lb Extra Rough here.

Just found this one on your gallery, your waves have got real movement & you caught it brilliantly. Well done

Watercolour 15"x 11" Bockingford 200lb. Extra Rough. Painted from a photograph. Didn't fancy hanging around at the time.
