Ah it is yours...I briefly saw this on the right of the screen earlier today. I'm captivated by the colours and the imaginative composition. Well done.

Thanks so much for your comment Phil, I fell for the art of Stan whilst on holiday in Pembrokeshire. His gallery was in St. Davids & when we discovered it he was painting the front door, not a portrait, he did that earlier. He was very friendly & invited me to copy one of his which I did. This I gave to my husband for his birthday & then I set about composing & painting the above. Look him up he has a website just google his name, Stan Rosenthal. His life history is also amazing.

Lovely Maureen the colours are so vibrant...and I like the story you tell about the painting allows me to take the journey with you

Inspired by Stan Rosenthal I painted this in Acrylic. It features the local railway, river, canal and bypass all of which run paralell along the Erewash Valley. The road runs uphill to Eastwood, our nearest town where stands the Sun Inn where meetings were held for planning the railway. There's the Church, The Heritage Museum, Pit Tips now landscaped and the Canal Basin at Langley Mill where we see a lot of narrow boat traffic.
