Mixed Media on Stretched Canvas, 30 x 30". This painting incorporates acrylic paints with thin handmade paper applied with soft gel medium. I knew I wanted do so something like this with a paper that was similar to Japanese rice paper to give it the texture of Japanese silk screens or doors. As I progressed on this painting, the colors and movement reminded me of bright colors and acrobatics of Cirque du Soleil, hence, the title. The colors used were quinacridone magenta, titanium white, cadmium red, iridescent gold, and iridescent bronze.
