Great picture - I love the free style - I'l have to get my painting knives out.

This caught my eye immediately - I ought to remember this, Lionel, and am sorry I don't: I've forgotten quite a lot just lately; the pressure, you know - he said, bravely... But - do you paint in oil? Because I think this would have worked even better in oil, with the greater malleability of paint available to you.

I do like this Lionel=- your work seems to be taking a turn for the abstract and very successfully at thatI

Many thanks for the above comments. Linda; if I have encouraged just one person to paint, I feel honoured. Looking forward to your postings. Sorry, Robert, no I do not use oils and I think I am a bit too old to start! And Michael, I am flattered...and, of course, very pleased. Thank you!

Oh I dunno - you're only as old as you feel.... Of course, that's no help if you feel around 96..... The painting is still a winner, whatever you've used - do more!

Lionel I could just sail right off into this glorious sunset! You are very clever to place the sun off centre and low in the sky, makes it believable. Beautiful! I'm also quite glad that you have sized it large, I can study your knife work.......close up!

A touch of the Turner's Lionel, soft and moody.

Love this piece, Lionel - it is mellow and striking at the same time, and I like the sparkle and the contrast of cools and warms.

Thank you Robert, Fiona, Carole and Seok. Your comments are always very much appreciated.. And Seok, thanks for your recent comments on my other postings.

After much thought I decided to post this one just because I enjoyed doing it ! I'm hedging my bets by putting 1 in the title. It's acrylic on stretched canvas done entirely with a knife, but is only 7 X 5 inches. Another enormous enlargement...don't ask me how I do it; I don't know.
