An excellent portfolio, all of them so well done but I think this is my favourite as it made me chuckle.

A lovely painting and rather a funny one too

Hi Lorraine. 'Busy biting Henry' came about when I realised that mozzies bite hippos as well as us, and I thought that it would be funny to paint that. The photo does not show the moz because it is really tiny, but you can see it in the actual painting. I have no idea how I managed to paint something so small, but suffice it to say, it took hours to sharpen the pastel and a few minutes to actually put the strokes down that look like one! Perhaps I should photograph this again to try and get the fly to show up? Hmmm....

I must have missed this when it was posted. My wife wants it!! She loves hippos. Absolutely superb! A great painting with underlying humour - not easy. So well executed. Guess what I'm obliged to paint next! I'll have to google some hippo pictures!

thanks for your kind words Alan. I really enjoyed this one.

What a wonderful painting poor Henry
