This intimate scene between a mother and her little girl feeding the pigeons immediately spoke to me as an artist. The mother’s peaceful yet attentive gaze, keeping watch over her girl among the bustle of the pigeons really drew me in and I decided to give it a go in watercolour. This is quite a different type of image for me to paint and I found it a little challenging. I wanted to capture the lively scene of the birds, but at the same time the quiet bond between mother and daughter. I hope I did it justice.
