This is great! I like it best of all of your paintings. It's strong, both in form and colour and the dark edges give it great drama. Well done!

Yes I can see why this would go down well with people Libby it is a very eyecatching oil painting, full of vibrancy and atmosphere with the palette you used and the fact that she is a dancer, very well captured

I put this painting on Facebook first, just to see what kind of response I got. As it is not the kind of painting I would normally do and in fact it took me so far out of my little comfort zone that I found it to be quite a daunting project. Every brush stroke was a little scary but I managed to finish it and actually quite like the result. The feedback on Facebook was eye opening and, although people were trying to read all kind of strange things into it, I now feel motivated to jump out of my little 'detail orientated' box every now and again.
