Great characters Lew, I'm often likened to this chap at a certain time of year!

Glad you found this and posted it. Wonderful.

Thank you Lewis for sharing this little gem. Subconsciously our skills do develop and what was once considered substandard to us becomes desirable.

Really excellent drawing and portrayal of a scene Lew. Love to see the classics kept alive.

What a treasure you found, Lewis. I agree about changing thoughts, but mine usually get really negative and I tear the piece up!!!

Love the characters Lewis and I think you are right about the background

Lew! I think it's astonishingly macabre, in the most positive sense of the word. It has everything from mood, place and temperament to dark humour and cruelty. It's a fascinating piece with an almost irresistible charm and wonderful portrayal of social indifference. Dickens would've liked this one. (not that I knew him) Bri

I love these characters Lewis, glad you found it to show us.

I found this when digging out a heavyweight cartridge pad. Haven't used it for a while. This drawing was in it. At the time I didn't like the scrappy black wash I'd put on...now I think it gives a seedy quality to the pic. Strange how your thoughts change about pics. Pen and wash. 16 x 12. (A couple of years old).

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
