He wasn't going to win any beauty competitions was he.!!. Good sketch though.

Geat use of the toned paper Lewis. All you characters have your personal stamp and are interesting. Can't help with the Canterbury stuff, just a faded schoolboy memory. I was always too b usy seeking Holy Grails and saving damsels in distress..(-:

Great technique !

No mirror, mirror on the wall moment for Chaucer, me thinks. A great representation Lewis.

has the look of a man who has just listened to a dubious tale

Fabulous and I like your tones paper. Fill up this book with Chaucer and associated characters. please.

Such a good drawing Lewis. He looks like he's sizing us all up!

He’s certainly got a hell of a hooter, Lewis. Super drawing. I could never do that.

What a great drawing Lewis! The toned paper is excellent.

Another great character sketch, I'm hoping for more like Gudrun!

Great character Lewis, wouldn’t argue with him!

I had the notion of doing something about Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. I hadn't realized how old they were...12th Century (Chaucer died in 1400). I looked him up, all the portraits seem to stem from the same image, which was itself painted at least 10 years after he died. So it was probably made up. So, I thought I'd make mine up. This is the first pic in my new toned sketchbook, so it's about a month old. A4, pencil. Haven't got any further with the Canterbury Tales idea.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
