Great cowboy and gorilla, also I like the feather boa. You say you don't like toned paper but you aren't taking advantage of it, get the white pencil out and add some highlights and the toned paper makes them pop.

Love the cowboy, Lewis. John Wayne e ain’t, but great character.

More wonderful sketches. Thanks for sharing.

Great characters there Lew. Great snouts too 🤥

Super sketches, Lewis, and great characterisation, as always. I don't know how you do it. I see your cowboy is set for a quick draw. (pun intended) *smile* The king has a king size nose that doubles as a ....never mind. Is it just me or does that gorilla have an amorous expression on his face? Good stuff all round. Brian

It's as much the individuality as the variety of your characters that appeals Lewis. Every one has something memorable. Love the wise-looking old silverback gorilla and the cowboy. Magic.

Lovely gorrila sketch, you should make it a painting in its own right, 😀

Love the sketch books Lewis, I suspect that far more is created in the sketch book than anywhere else.

I keep hoping for a section on folk met in a supermarket Lew and what magic you could work on them..(-: .

Thanks to all for taking a look, and your generous comments. I do sometimes add white in the toned sketchbook David, you are quite right it does make them pop. I thought I'd try a toned book, I have and I prefer the white paper I'm used to...but, at least I gave it a try. I might have a go at supermarket types, Jim. If I do, I'll probably be accused of over exaggerating.

Get off your horse and...... Very good.

Just loving all your wonderful funny characters, human and otherwise...keep 'em coming, Lewis, they brighten everyne's day!!!

Love these Lewis. They all look wonderful.

Ive missed your sketches, keep em coming Lewis

Still stuck in my sketchbooks, can't get a painting underway. Not really a problem, I love fiddling in sketchbooks. A4 toned sketchbook (don't really like toned books, this is the first and last). Pencil mostly + one bit of coloured pencil and pen.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
