Great drawing as always Lewis, love the French teacher's face.

Your school-teacher reminds me of our late English master, commonly known as 'Streaky', except he always wore a black-gone-green-with-age Master's gown. And I don't think he'd have been seen dead in brown shoes.

Thanks for looking at my pics. Yes Robert, our teachers wore black gowns, I preferred to draw him without it. For the last 20 minutes of our French lessons, he'd take off his gown, clap his hands together, rub them together (as in the pic), and say...'Maintenant, nous parlons, francaise.' (or whatever 'Now we speak in French' is...my french is over 60 years old). From that point on, we weren't allowed to speak in English. It was actually great fun, and he'd have that big grin on his face. I can remember it clearly from all those years ago, if only I could remember where I put my pencil sharpener yesterday.

Your sketches all look so professional Lewis. Amazing stuff this.

Excellent version of George, your school teacher is a nice cartoon too. I am more impressed by your figurative stuff than your cartoons but I imagine the cartoons are more fun for you to make and also more humorous for the viewer.

A great study of the two men. As you say why is it we can remember things 50 years ago and not what happened just recently?. Now what was I going to do next?

I admire people like you who can create stuff like this. You need a lot of imagination which you clearly have and can translate that so well visually.

Fabulous Lewis and how nice to portray a teacher of whom you have fond memories of after so many years have lapsed.

I do like all your work. So much detail to look at and so wonderfully drawn.

Wonderful. Your Teacher does look like he made things fun and I bet you can speak French.

I'm always a sucker for sketchbooks. The French teacher is just excellent - you've imbued him with so much personality!

Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
