Looking very thoughtful. Love the arm hanging down.

Love that arm, your eyes are drawn to it right away, loved all the old horror movies, we used to go and see them when we were courting, a long time ago 😀

Indeed that is so, Tony! Super almost monochrome really adds to the air of mystery. Interesting stuff about Edgar Allen Poe...thanks Lewis for the info

Yes, the arm...I saw the film before I read the book, and I remember when the arm appeared in the fireplace. Screams had been heard and when the police broke into the locked room, they found evidence of violence but no body. Great puzzlement all round. Then...the arm dropped down.

So good Lewis! Love the arm, lol.

That hanging arm is like a magnet for the eye. It has a humorous quality that I love. Brian

In amongst the horrors now are we? Great drawing as usual Lewis.

This book by Edgar Allen Poe, written in 1841, is considered to be the first detective novel. It set the format for what followed...the importance of observation, preserving (undisturbed) the crime scene, thinking as the criminal would think. It also had Dupin's companion telling the story (think Dr Watson). The Rue Morgue story is a 'locked room' mystery...the murder room locked from the INSIDE with no other means of entry or exit...a storyline much loved by crime writers.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
