I thought it was digital the moment I saw it, Lew. It's amazingly good but I personally prefer your freehand work. The thing is, it's difficult to say why, because both methods seem to work. I think it's because the freehand work seems to have more of you and your spontaneity running through the picture, and somehow gives a greater impression of skill. Having read some posts in the forum I realise this is a thorny issue, so let me just say that I have nothing against digital work at all; I simply prefer the free and loose approach. Nevertheless, this is an impressive piece, full of character and emotion, sporting a super pose. Bri

Another super character. I like some digital work but it can look unrealistic sometimes. I just wish artists would say they are digital as you have done.

Fantastic, love it however it was done. I prefer you free-hand work too Lew, but I can sure enjoy something like this. It's still a product of your imagination and skill.

It's brilliantly done Lewis. It could easily be a character from one of the many animated films i've watched and I hasten to add, enjoyed, in the company of my grandchildren.

These are great Lewis.. I Can certainly appreciate the skill and patience it must take to create these characters. 👍🏻

I can imagine the patience, skill and time you have put into producing your digital images. I admire you for taking up the challenge and it's another string to your bow. Just wouldn't have the time to attempt something so challenging. Wish I had more time for painting but life tends to get in the way. Great work as always Lewis.

Thanks to all for your feedback, and for having a look.

Excellent. I too prefer non digital, but that's personal preference and does not reflect the quality of work.

Another digital 'remnant' from a planned digital image. One of the reasons I stopped doing digital was because it was taking too long, and I was ending up with too many unfinished pictures. This pic and the previously posted 'alderman' are like survivors from a digital painting that sank without trace.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
