Thanks very much for your comments, Jennifer, John, Micheal and Jim. Always welcome and encouraging. I don't know why I put the texture on the image, there's no reason for it. I just tried it and liked it. One of the advantages of digital is, of course, that you CAN try things, and delete them if you don't like them.

An attempt at this timeless subject. Everything in this started with a pencil drawing. These were scanned into my computer, and than 'painted' with photoshop. I used a photo ref for the girl...can't remember who she is...but it's a drawing not a doctored photo.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
