Gosh this hits you straight away Lewis, it's fabulous work, I know I always say I don't like digital, but I can appreciate you have to have a real talent to be able to do this and your explanation of your process explains it in great detail, I wish other digital artists would do the same, this is brilliant 😀

You really should be illustrating some childrens (and other) books Lew. Whatever the medium your talent is truly amazing.

What Linda and Jim said. Brilliant! Bri

This is really interesting. I admire your technological skills in being able to produce such work. Takes a lot of thought and imagination to pull off such art. There is no cheating involved when you need to involve complicated thought processes. These AIDS are there to be discovered and experimented upon. Still grappling with the basics, so it will be several years before I could make such bold, forward steps towards digital art.

Thanks very much for all your feedback, always welcome and encouraging.

Totally agree with Linda and Jim. You're brilliant at this, Lewis!

Wow how clever you are Lewis, you are a wiz with your computer. This looks so good.

Another digital pic from a few years back. Digital has some advantages that you can exploit. For example, I photographed a fern in my garden, fiddled with it and used it in this pic in various forms...reproduced it several times, changed color and shape etc. A form of cheating I guess, but it meant I didn't have to paint loads of ferns. The figures were drawn in pencil, they were scanned and colored in Photoshop. I like the stylised trees, which were drawn with the mouse, and various effects used.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
