Very clever , Lewis. It’s certainly Rembrandt. Always enjoy your early morning postings over a cup of tea.

Great line and what a brilliant sketch Lew.

I knew it was Rembrandt before reading your intro', Lewis. This had me laughing out loud, mainly because a touch of daft humour is right up my street. A hoot of a painting, brilliantly executed. Genuinely put a smile on my face this morning. Incidentally, he was my art teacher's favourite artist and he always simply referred to Rembrandt as "The Master". We knew who he was talking about. That's one of my favourite things I have seen you produce in a while. Firstly I love how you have done the Rembrant, and secondly the girls are amazing.

Love it Lewis, the painting and the humour.

Superb as ever Lew, both the humour and the painting. Great stuff maestro..(-:

Very good, he would be in trouble today, gazing at those young women!

That's terrific Lewis, brilliant painting of Rembrandt, love the way he's eyeing up the girls 😀

Fabulous Lewis, I love Rembrandt's self portraits and I love this too.

Love this! You are such a clever thing Lewis, this made me laugh!

So very clever! Love it, especially as I've been hanging my paintings for my one woman exhibition ...this is a great one!!!

Great Painting Lewis, Love this on so many levels.

That’s a super portrait of the man himself Lewis.

I've been making a lot of stuff up recently, and thought I'd copy something for a change. I shouldn't have picked a Rembrandt self portrait, there's plenty of easier stuff out there. The subtlety in his portraits is astonishing. I've always thought that as far as portrait painting goes, Rembrandt is the bees-knees...now I think he's the bee-knees, elbows and feet. But I had a go...maybe should have done it in oils. This is in my A3 sketchbook, watercolour with a little body colour here and there.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
