You have captured the contours a softness in yor shading Lesley, great figure.

Great balance design and drawing Lesley

Great. You really get the sense of soft flesh. Do you use thick charcoal? I'm sure you have already mentioned what size paper you use!

Many thanks Helen, Carole, Dennis and Gudrun :) Hi Gudrun, I use thick charcoal mostly on Bockingford watercolour paper - the more textured variety, both stop me from getting too detailed. Occasionally I use thinner charcoal for a little detail at the end. Size of paper, usually A3 as here, but sometimes A2 if I'm feeling brave about getting home on London buses...

Or if there is a high wind! ;))

Lol! Absolutely Carole ;)

I love to paint water, with boats, buildings or simply the water in oils. I'm a regular at life drawing sessions where I usually get covered in charcoal!
