Sorry this strong woman's legs are far too long...do some measuring . Her boobs are way out of proportion, enhanced of not. Look at your shadows and lights and darks. If you want to paint " nudes" why not go along to a life drawing class and paint from a real woman. Sorry if this is harsh but you can obviously draw, ... your skin tones are nice.

On re reading your description I also feel that this pose in the nude is more detrimental to all women.

Sorry, but I have to agree with Sylvia - nor does it look anything like Angelina Jolie.

Right, seeing that Sylvia and Ann have made their feelings clear on this one I will add my two penneth as well, this doesn't look anything like AJ and if it was from a model she would be unbelievable uncomfortable! What is it with men who insist on painting nudes that are always women anyway!

Wow, what a refreshing change to see an honest opinion if some what harsh, but the truth sometimes hurts. However Lenerd use this critique to inspire you to return with an improved posting next time. Sylvia does have a point though, you really have to observe, check and recheck your proportions and tonal values with life studies which will also give your studies more of a third dimensional feel. Maybe well get more honest comments in the future ,as I feel there is probably not enough honest and constructive comments posted.

Leonard, you write fine words rejecting the ill treatment of women and the need for "strong women". I agree. So why choose to show this strong independent woman as some sort of pathetic sex kitten? I'm fairly sure she would appear just as strong with cloths on, indeed more so. Your words do not match the image. Quite offended really, so I won't bother to comment on the work.

Have a look at gray's anatomy - that will sort your proportions out.

Angelina Jolie personifies what August month stands for in South Africa nl Woman's Month. The ordeals that woman goes through with their bodies are but one of the facets normally highlighted. The ill treatment due to traditions, child marriages, muti or medical beliefs, the family trauma with all the gangsterism and drugs as seen now again in the Cape- Mannenberg and a list of other not so often talked about "crimes" committed against woman. I am of the believe that for any house, community, town & country to rise above their social problems you must have "salt of the earth" strong woman.
