Dave Ettridge sent in his picture which measures 30 X 40 cm and is painted on Daler Rowney Aquafine 110 lbs not paper, saying: 'I started with a light sketch, using other pics from the internet as reference material, I then wet the paper and taped it to a board to stretch, once dry I dampened the sky area and started to add the clouds, the hill on the right side which is in shadow and the darkest was next to be painted, this set the tones for the rest of the picture I continued painting the distant hills then the mountain to the left, which I wanted to be more rocky. This completed, I returned to the central distant hill and readjusted the colour and tone, lastly the foreground this was completed in stages reviewing between each stage, because I was concerned that the balance should be right.'
