Chamois by Leisure Painter

Hi Kate, You have been braver than me by putting in the background (not my strong point!) but it really works well here! And you have done well with depicting the fur, particularly on the jaw, resisting drawing a hard line! The photographer, Marco Pantanella, took some beautiful photographs of this animal which inspired me, and I am so glad they have inspired others as well. The only point I would make is that the nose appears a little off centre, but I think this could be rectified by lengthening the line for the mouth on the left hand side a little. But dthis oesn't detract from a great picture overall - well done! Anna Pateman

Hi Anna, thank you so much for your comments, much appreciated! this is the first time i have attempted to do an animal, i really enjoyed it.. i have had a look again at the nose/mouth area - i see what you mean. it dosen't look quite right -sometimes it helps to have a fresh eye looking at it! With your comments and encouragement i will carry on painting with fresh enthusiasm.!
