Australian Barn

I haven't seen the original painting project as I don't take Leisure Painter; however - given this is Australia, I'd expect hotter colour; although I know that even Australia has a winter. The perspective in the building is slightly off ... just enough to be noticeable. and the landscape behind the trees gets lost in an amorphous haze, which ... well, it wouldn't. The way the wire in the foreground trails into the earth, on the other hand, is very well done, and I like the spattering (?) effects = on the whole though, and because this is an LP project I'm being more hyper-critical than I'd normally be, I just suspect this is a painting of Australia by someone who's not been there; the heat - frankly, incredible and to me unbearable heat - is missing, and the purplish touches, which look a bit like Paynes Grey and Alizarin Crimson, don't convey the very necessary difference between our cool, grey atmosphere, and that of the Australian continent.

Well done Brian An imaginative interpretation of my photo/painting. Using watercolours instead of oils certainly gives the scene a completely different mood. I like how you have re-arranged the composition to make it your own by moving the fence to the right side. A very creative choice. Elena Parashko

This is a beautiful watercolour painting, it is lovely. :-)
