Colin Steed - Artist & Tutor. You have incorporated most of my suggestions Brian. Although your sky doesn't have any warm areas, giving it a cold feel you have balanced that by painting warm tones on the house, trees and foreground shadows. The snow appears to slope away in the foreground. The large tree shadow could have been painted more narrow (fore-shortened). This would rectify that. Some of the large tree branches are a little straight. Try to give them more movement. The shadows on the house could have been one tone darker. The sunlight sides would then appear much lighter. Those tufts of grass in the left hand foreground do work well and are an excellent addition. Overall this a lovely, well thought though snow scene Brian. Would love to see more of your work.

Brian Ingram sent in his version of Colin Steed's project saying: 'This was painted on Daler Rowney NOT paper with SAA paints. Size was 24x16cm. approx. I would appreciate a critique of the painting'
