Gill Hellewell painted her version of the project in watercolour using four colours - Gamboge, Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine and Raw Sienna. She decided on a vignette version keeping the colours light, thus achieving a 'summery feel' to the subject, which she felt was rather dark and somber in the photograph.
