Colin Steed, Artist and Tutor. I think this version has the most atmosphere mainly because you have used shadows to good affect.

Jackie Poulouktsi sent in this and another 3 versions of this month's project saying: 'I really got absorbed in this project, and had great fun with my four attempts! I haven't painted anything like this in watercolour for a long, long time and found it really challenging. I learnt so much from the process although I'm not very satisfied with my results. I'd like to paint in a looser fashion, but found it hard to combine that with getting in some detail. Firstly I tried pen and ink, then my second attempt involved a lot of masking out, which got more and more complicated! I changed a few things from the original photo as I experimented. Finally, for the fourth and last attempt I decided not to use the photo at all (by now I think the basic image was ingrained in my memory!) and just go for it, no masking except for the lettering. Whatever the results, I had a great time, and isn't that what it's all about for us leisure painters!?
