Super bright colours and contrast. Water also looks good. I too have not been to this lake, but have visited similar locations in Italy, so I reckon you have got it right !

Jackie Poulouktsi sent in her version of the Italian Lake scene set by Jane Ward saying: 'The scene looked quite complicated and I was surprised that I managed to get a finished watercolour painting out of it. I've altered the scene a little to give it a bit more depth and sense of distance. I've never been to the area so don't know if the lake really is that big! I also gave it some more foreground to lead the eye and to give the viewer something to stand on! I really enjoyed doing it and had to drag myself away as I was beginning to fiddle around too much. Perhaps I'll have another go and do something a little looser. I found the mass of trees quite a challenge and it's the first time I've done water close up in watercolour. I usually play safe and do a simple wash for the sea or lake. So, it was good practice and has spurred me on to try other seeming complicated scenes.'
