Very lively work Alan, the ink work is very striking, using the rigger oviously aids that.

Thanks Stephen, it was only a 10 minute bash, but I find that I can get many different line widths with the rigger as opposed to a marker pen. To me, this adds a bit more interest.

Wonderful depiction of this lovely house. I intend to have a go at this one as well, but you have set the bench mark very high, so I had better look to my laurels!!

Thanks Thea, I'm not sure about setting a benchmark though, I was rather embarrassed when I saw it again... Look forward to your 'very much neater' version.

Love the bold use of lines and the spontaneous feel of the piece. Super work, Alan!

I do love your way with black ink Alan, it's so.........you know, there's nothing shy about it. Love it!

An exciting addition to the gallery.

Simple and strong.

Really like this Alan - I tend to use a twig as it can be quite excitingly unpredictible but I guess this also applies to a rigger - must give it a go,

Love the drama and energy

Lovely lively work Alan

My immediate thought's when I saw Tony's photograph was to move closer in to the subject and exaggerate the perspective. This gives a more dramatic feel and a more interesting aspect to a rather flat scene. As I always do when drawing I used a rigger brush with black ink and rapidly sketched in the main details, finally putting on a few loose washes with acrylic. I left out the car but felt that the figure added scale'
