Hi Brian. The first thing that attracts me to this painting is the rich tile work colour. That's well handle. You have good tone and colour throughout the painting. Muddy shadows normally means they have been overworked. Try to stroke the paint on the paper with a large, well loaded brush without disturbing the colour underneath. That would give you a much fresher looking painting. Good job though.
