Thank you for your very interesting article in the Leisure Painter, which inspired me to try your approach with the photo of Trondheim, Norway. My painting technique of late has become somewhat detailed and this project has given me the opportunity to loosen up my brush work and think about taking a more simplistic approach to a composition. I did however, wonder whether or not I had taken too simplistic an approach to the shadows, in particular the large tree in the middle of the painting!
