Detlef Brucker sent in his project saying: I always struggle painting the branches of the trees with a brush. So I decided to give this one a try as a pen and wash. I drew all the detail - including the branches and twigs - with a 0.5 ink pen and then tried to work freely with the watercolour. Maybe I should have used a sepia pen instead of the dark-brown and should have used less colour for the background but I definitely enjoyed painting this scene.
