I always try to start each new Moleskine watercolour sketchbook with a joyful & uplifting painting that makes me smile whenever I open the cover. This abstract watercolour after John Huston, was originally commissioned for the wine bottle label of the 1982 Chateau Mouton Rothschild.

Retired beginner, playing with colour & paint as a way of relaxing, but still hopeless at drawing. I'm a Biologist by training, so botanical & animal portraits are my main interest. Looking to improve my observation skills & watercolour technique. Some interest in ink & Chinese brush too.
