I can see it's hurried by your exacting standards, but you've caught this young man very well - even down to that smooth, almost velvety back of the neck, where young people have the sheen of puppy-hood: and we have wrinkles.

Robert - Thank you for your comments! I love the description of the neck, very astute, I might add.

It certainly caught my eye with that light and the way you've described his head.

Marjorie - Thanks so very much! I always like to paint light and shadow, when possible.

Astonishing for an hours work, beautifully back lit.

It's wonderful and so quick too. Have just googled and listened to a piece of his music and, as you say, totally different and captivating.

How wonderful is that!!

I can’t believe how quickly you’ve painted this Skylar. It is a lovely piece of work and the softer finish links so well with the theme and the music he creates. The effect of the light works so well.

Love the back of the head. You have captured the short stubbly really well!

I'm so pleased with your responses. Than you!! I may do a better, more precise version in the future. I know I am a Fan of his music already.

What a fabulous painting Skylar - the contrasting background is great.

Shaun - Thank you so much!

This an artist I just discovered on Youtube. He redefines pop music. Mixing all genres into a seamless, erratic, psychological dreamscape which is Captivating. Brilliant! (10x12) I was so anxious to post this, that I left many details incomplete. The whole thing done in less than an hour.
